In January we delivered a catamaran to Port Denarau and took the opportunity for a mini vacation to Suva. From Port Denarau we took a bus across the island to Suva, explored Suva and then took the ferry from Suva to Savusavu. While in Suva we played tourist, splurged on a hotel versus our typical homestay option, saw Starwars, got haircuts, visited museums and craft shops, bought some new threads and ate like Kings.
For the first time ever, we are mixing in online courses into our boatschool curriculum. We had heard good reviews from other travelers that Acellus was worth a try. It's OK. Some of the classes the kids say their teachers are boring. I personally don't know if the curriculum is challenging enough, I need to conduct further research. Phil loves the idea of their work being graded online and he's not having to grade everyday. For now, with reliable, cheap WiFi, our girls will continue to include Acellus into their worldschool studies. Considering we spent $1000 just on the Suva trip, I'd say we did great with our budget this month.
